Why is it that the question always seems to be, “Why do Palesti nians hate Jews?” (Even though they mean Israeli but their ignorance doesnt know the difference) or “Why do Muslims hate Christians?” Why does the blame always fall on Palestinians, Arabs, Muslims, Arab Christians or any oppressed group, as if they are the ones harboring hate? Are people truly blind to the reality of oppression? Do they not see the systematic violence and ethnic cleansing happening.

It’s shocking that these questions continue to be asked, as they ignore the reality on the ground. How can anyone ask why Palestinians might feel anger or resistance without acknowledging that they are enduring ethnic cleansing and 80 years of a brutal military occupation, while the other side faces none of this? Such questions are not just ignorant; they are a diversion from the truth.

Our mission is to dismantle this narrative. We must continue to educate, to break through the propaganda and lies that have been perpetuated for generations. It’s our duty to spread the truth, to replace the fabricated stories people have been fed with the reality of what’s happening. Understanding and empathy begin when we confront the truth, not when we hide from it. #truth

Last night, I decided to take myself out for dinner, something I often do. But what started as a solo evening turned into an unexpected and beautiful connection. I bumped into @galpal_julie and Richard, and even though we’ve known each other for a while, this was the first time we really sat down together and talked. For hours, we shared stories and perspectives about life, politics, Palestine, travel, relationships, health and much more. What struck me was that despite our different cultures, backgrounds, and viewpoints, we listened, learned, and laughed without a single argument. We touched on difficult, even heartbreaking topics, but it was done with empathy, understanding, and a sense of unity.

In a world where conversations can easily turn divisive, this felt profound. It was a reminder that when humanity comes together the right way, when we open our hearts, listen without judgment, and seek to understand there’s nothing more beautiful. We can learn so much from each other, find common ground, and support one another. This experience was a glimpse of how the world could be, if we all approached each other with the same spirit of openness and love. We need more of this more conversations that build bridges, more laughter, and more unity. It’s so important to truly connect with the people around us. Take the time to learn about your friends’ family history. What struggles and stories shaped their journeys? Dive into their cultures, beliefs, and lifestyles, and discover the habits and traditions that make them who they are. These conversations create deeper bonds, build empathy, and broaden our understanding of the world. Connecting with more of our own family members is just as essential. It keeps our roots strong, our stories alive, and reminds us of where we come from. Learning from each other and staying connected helps preserve the beauty of our diverse cultures and strengthens our shared humanity. And, of course, always talk about Palestine. Share its stories, its struggles, and its resilience. I made a promise to take them to Palestine, where we’ll experience its beauty, culture, & spirit together. As a cancer survivor, I often reflect on how fortunate I am to have access to state-of-the-art treatment. But my heart aches for those who don’t have this privilege, especially my people in Palestine, Gaza, Lebanon, Syria, Yemen, and all places where war and occupation make survival an everyday struggle.

Imagine facing the terrifying diagnosis of cancer while enduring the chaos of genocide. Imagine being unable to complete your treatment, unable to do routine check-ups, and not knowing if you’ll survive not because of the illness, but because you are being denied care as part of ethnic cleansing. This is a heartbreaking reality for so many.

I know how paralyzing it is to hear the words, ‘You have cancer.’ I had a plan, support, and access to the best facilities. But what about those who don’t? I can only imagine the fear, the uncertainty, and the sheer panic. Yet, I believe in their resilience. Even when their world is collapsing, their bodies keep fighting, their spirits keep enduring. They are in survival mode, resisting not just cancer but the oppressive forces surrounding them.

Please keep them in your prayers, in your thoughts. Share their stories. Let this message and our Keffiyeh ribbon spark conversations that open eyes to the harsh reality of what people are enduring battling cancer amid bombings, living through genocide, and fighting for their lives.

For Breast Cancer Awareness Month, we’re launchi

For Breast Cancer Awareness Month, we’re launching a special Keffiyeh box inspired by @luluscrackers @abuelhawa3 that includes a custom t-shirt, Bella blend pink Keffiyeh bandana, a pink Keffiyeh mug @min.biladi , and a surprise Tatreez gift from @handmadepalestine We also have a separate pink Keffiyeh ribbon t-shirt, and the mug can be purchased on its own. A portion of sales from these items will be donated to @unrwausa . On January 8, 2020, I was officially in remission. After that, I wanted to create a cancer ribbon design that embodied our Palestinian heritage. We came up with the Keffiyeh ribbon 4 years ago. While looking through old files for our six-year anniversary, I found the design and knew it was time to release it for Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
This design is meant to spark conversation, especially in our community, where people often stay silent about their disabilities, cancer battles, and vulnerabilities. It’s crucial that we become more vocal about these struggles. We don’t need to keep hiding them from each other by opening up, we can help one another. When I shared my cancer journey on the Palestinian Hustle page, many reached out, revealing how they had kept their battles private. That experience showed me how important it is to talk about these things.
We also hope this design sparks conversation with people outside of our community. When they ask about the ribbon, we can share the history of the Keffiyeh and remind them that there are people battling cancer in the middle of a genocide without access to the healthcare, treatments, hospitals, or medicine they need. Cancer patients in Pale stine, Leba non, Sy ria, Ye men etc are being displaced miles from home, facing ethnic cleansing daily. It’s important for people to see the struggle of cancer patients and survivors around the world.If you or someone in your family is battling breast cancer, or any form of cancer, please share their name in the comments. Tony and I met a couple of years ago at one of my

Tony and I met a couple of years ago at one of my favorite restaurants @nineteen61_ . One day, he noticed my shirt and came over to talk about Palestine. We ended up having a long conversation about what’s happening there. Since then, every time he sees me, he checks in on me, my family, and my people. He’s deeply empathetic, showing genuine compassion for what’s going on back home and even expressing his sorrow for the horrors happening back home.

Recently, we ran into each other at a restaurant we both rarely visit. He said, ‘I need some shirts. I need to support.’ I told him he could order it from the website, or I could go home and bring the items he wants right now which I did. This is just one example of how local communities in the United States are changing, with more people shifting their views about what’s happening back home.

You don’t have to be a scholar to understand the truth; all it takes is a heart and common sense. If you take the time to educate yourself, it doesn’t take long to see the truth. I love seeing how we’re all helping to open minds within our communities, showing people the truth. We can’t get tired, and we can’t lose hope. We’re changing perspectives one person at a time, and we will never stop until our home is free. #community #love #humanity

As a cancer survivor, I’ve always shared my jour

As a cancer survivor, I’ve always shared my journey openly across our platforms. Through this, I’ve been blessed to connect with so many in our community who were also battling cancer. We’ve created a small, supportive circle where we’d FaceTime during chemo sessions, vent, cry, laugh, and simply be there for each other.

Two of my dear friends, @luluscrackers Lubna (many of you know her as Lulu from Lulu’s Crackers) and @abuelhawa3 , reached out to me during my battle, as they too were fighting breast cancer. Over the past six years, we’ve stayed closely connected.

This year, for Breast Cancer Awareness Month, we wanted to do something to honor all those who are battling breast cancer or who have beaten cancer while celebrating our culture. With each box sold, a percentage of sales will be donated to @unrwausa

We encourage everyone to contribute to any breast cancer organizations this month.
