Falastine in Arabic calligraphy designed as a compass. This design was inspired by @karimasart conversations with her Baba about Palestine and the pain we all feel in being separated from our true North: Falasteen. Karima’s page is a healing, inspirational and motivational space for me. I am continually moved by her artwork and the beautiful words she integrates. Her art is truly magical. When you collab with family on something you are all passionate about, beautiful things come alive. This Palestine Compass is an ode to that and to our truth North and a prayer that we may continue to be guided in our individual and collective journeys to free our Palestine together. The difference between being indigenous to the lan

The difference between being indigenous to the land and not is very clear. As indigenous people, no matter how hard it is to live in our country, the thought of leaving never crosses our minds. Pales tinians have endured the worst military occupation, apartheid, ethnic cleansing and genocide in recent history, and I promise you, the thought of leaving Pale stine never crosses anyone’s mind.

On the other hand, there has been a 285% increase in Isra elis leaving Isr ael due to the pressure of war created by their own government. This indicates that these people are not indigenous to the land; they were just taking advantage of free citizenship, a free home, and a free ride on others’ homes and land. This proves that they don’t care about the land; they were just being paid to live there. They wanted to live a free life, while indigenous people live under brutal circumstances and still don’t want to leave their land.

I believe that many people who are racist may not

I believe that many people who are racist may not even realize they are, and changing these deeply held beliefs is challenging. However, we must help facilitate that change. In light of the current situation in Ga za, I hope those who harbor racist attitudes toward Arabs, Palestinians, Arab Muslims, and Arab Christians begin to question their hatred, especially when millions globally are standing in solidarity with us.

By creating and sharing educational videos, we can encourage people to ask themselves, “Why am I racist? Why do I hate people who don’t look like me?” If each video can educate and change even one person, we’ve made a difference. We must continually engage with these individuals to foster understand and teach them about our culture, beliefs etc etc.

When people learn about the diverse and beautiful cultures around them—not just Arab/Palestinian culture, but also Mexican, African-American, Asian, and other cultures—they may come to appreciate these cultures and abandon their prejudices. I believe in my heart that this approach can lead to lasting change.

This message is inspired by several incidents I’ve faced over the past two weeks. I know our community is working hard to educate and transform minds, one person at a time. With persistent effort, we can bring even those with racist views to our side through understanding, education and compassion. We are not born racist. We are not born hateful. These attitudes are products of our surroundings and experiences. To combat racism, we must persistently challenge it, helping individuals transform their hate into love. #love #hate #together #humanity

Today, I walked down a random alley in my town, one I had never explored before. I saw a Sabr/cactus tree that reminded me of back home. The stone on the outside of the building also evoked memories of back home. That whole corner gave me goosebumps, and I found myself staring at it for a solid five minutes. Seeing this corner in a random alley made me miss back home so much.

We are 10 months into a genocide, and still, people are not speaking out about what’s happening. On my personal page, three people shared posts about Russia’s bombing of a hospital in Ukraine, showing deep sympathy. Yet, these same people are silent about Palestine. They see me in the streets and talk to me like they know me, but how can I be friends with people who don’t truly see me, who don’t know who I am, and who don’t show sympathy for what’s been happening to my people for ten months?

How can educators, scholars, teachers, doctors, nurses, medical staff, and all those who think they are contributing to humanitarian efforts around the world ignore what’s happening in Palestine? I’ve been speaking out about this for six years, but it is truly appalling how a human can support another based on their color, culture, and creed.

I understand many of you are not able to share about it on your social media due to your positions and jobs. However, sharing extends beyond social media. It means talking about it daily and weekly with your family, friends, coworkers, and community. Sharing is being vocal and raising awareness in your circles.

It doesn’t necessarily have to be on social media. I have many family members and friends who can’t share on social media, but they work hard behind the scenes and make a significant difference. Your voice matters, and your actions can help bring attention to the plight of the Palestinian people outside of social media. Mug from @min.biladi

The ‘Native’ design incorporates the fishing net motif from the keffiyeh, while the map of Palestine features barbed wire, with the Key of Return integrated into the map and the liberation symbol anchoring it.
