The land is us, and we are the land. Before there were places such as the states that we live in, there was land and the people Indigenous to it. It's easy to forget this because we are a part of a new structure and shape to the land around us. It's easy to forget that we are visitors and even easier to forget how to be courteous, considerate ones. Displacement of Indigenous people has happened and continues to happen all over the world. It's becoming increasingly important for us to educate ourselves about whose land we are on so that we can join and support each other in our collective struggle for liberation and land back. Tell your story the Palestinian way. One of the things I appreciate most about Palestinian culture is how creative it is. Whatever the medium may be, whether it's music, dance, food, writing, tatreez, or education, there is an intricacy to the art in the Palestinian way of life that is so beautiful and unique. A lot has been and continues to be stolen from us, but our voices--our stories--can never be taken. Whatever your medium may be, keep sharing it. There is no landscape more beautiful and special than our Palestine. Our ancestors poured their heart and spirit into the land, evident in their methods of agriculture and landscaping--in harmony with the land, meandering and blending within it. They understood the importance of the local flora and fauna. They respected and loved the native trees, and these trees meant the world to our ancestors. Each tree has a story and each story is a seed of hope for our people, unifying us as Palestinians. Too many of us are displaced around the world, yet many stories of Palestinians begin in a village, with an old tree that was planted by a grandmother, grandfather or even an ancestor or a prominent person in the village. Last year, my birthday theme was free Palestine be $Last year, my birthday theme was free Palestine because as much as we wanted to celebrate, we weren't in much of a celebratory state, as we were all devastated by how heavily Gaza was being bombed and attacked. This year, we are unfortunately at another very heavy moment in time. The last few weeks have been intensely sad for all of us. We are essentially watching this world go to shit and the common denominators are USA-funded violence in our own country and against Palestine & many others, militarized propaganda, hate, racism, greed, and so on.For my birthday today, I ask each one of you to consider how fortunate your life is. I want you to play your day-to-day in your mind & to know & recognize that we are incredibly blessed for seemingly simple things, such as our ability to wake up each morning in our own, safe home, to choose our outfit from a closet filled with clean clothes, to prepare our breakfast from a fridge filled with food, and to kiss our loved ones on our way out of the door to begin our day. Let's always be grateful for what we have because there are millions of people who dream to have a fraction of what we have. Something else that I ask for us all to remember is that whatever our fortunes may be in life means that we each have a responsibility to advocate for justice for those who have been disempowered by one or many of the exhaustive ways institutional racism, sexism, ageism, & ableism powers this country. I ask you to continue to spread love, help others & always hustle. We all have influential voices, so let's continue to use them to make waves until Palestine is free, until gun control is a federal law, and until laws that govern our bodies are obliterated. I am forever grateful for each one of you. The Palestinian Hustle community is growing & we are making a difference around the world. You all are the greatest gift to me, today, and every day. Thank you @nourpalestina for sharing this video. Please watch and share. Today marks the 74th anniversary of the 1948 Nakba, when Zionist military forces forcibly displaced over 750,000 Palestinians from their land to make way for the establishment of the state of Israel.

Whether Palestinians fled or were expelled, virtually none were allowed to return. Most Palestinians who left their homes in 1947 and 1948 believed they would one day come back when the fighting stopped, no matter the outcome. This was a complete delusion. They were gone, and the new Israeli state regarded their absence as a godsend, which allowed a Jewish-majority country to emerge suddenly.

To all Palestinians, the Nakba is a tragedy, consequences of which are felt even today. The victims are not only the Palestinian refugees but also the entire Palestinian nation.

Before the Nakba, there was a large, deeply rooted Palestinian society in most of what, within a few months, became the Jewish state of Israel. It was there one day, as it had been for living memory, and the next day it was gone. Except for relatively small groups in a few places, an entire society simply vanished.

Collectively, Palestinians lost their society and were condemned to live as exiles, most of them in refugee camps in Palestine and neighboring Arabic countries. The land they left behind, known today as Israel, became a mere nostalgic memory to them. Till this stay, many still languish in refugee camps waiting for the day they can return to Palestine.

For the last few months, I have traveled to different Regufee camps in Palestine and Jordan
to share stories of Al-Nakba, firsthand from those who experienced this catastrophe of 1948. These testimonials are a form of peaceful, educational resistance to one of the most violent events in history.
