I woke up with my brother @offendum music and words on my mind. Please listen to every single word and as you are listening, think about what is happening and has been happening over the last 75 years. “Why be Jewish, Christian, or Muslim if you don’t believe in ONENESS” What we have been seeing over the last two months is Muslims, Jews, Christians, and people from all religions becoming ONE and together fighting against evil. This is Humanity! We stand together as one, we fight together as one, we cry together as one, we win together as one. We are ONE! This poem was written for Nakba Day a few years ago during the height of covid, and when I woke today, these words were heavy on my chest. As we are witnessing a new Nakba, I felt compelled to share this. #together #oneness

These images will show you a people who have been able to live life so beautifully, despite being trapped under a blockade. These images will show you the strength of a people living under extreme military occupation, never knowing if they will live to see another day. These images will show you, quite simply, the beauty of the people of Gaza. My brothers @m.z.gaza , @itsdanieldart , and I have been working together for 5 years to create a film on Life in Gaza. If this film process doesn’t have to stop entirely, it will likely take a few more years to finish. Mohammed has worked his whole life to document both the beauty and devastation of Gaza. As he captures families enjoying life at the beach together in one moment, in the next moment, he captures families who were bombed and murdered in cold blood. His life is documenting all things Gaza—the good and the bad. He is sacrificing his life and his family’s life every day to show us the truth about what’s happening. Our brother Daniel wrote this about Mohammed: Meet Mohammed Zaanoun: photographer, journalist, survivor. In July, 2006 he was seriously injured while working as a photojournalist for Ma’an news agency in Gaza. He was shot in the face by Israeli snipers. It didn’t stop there though. They continued to shoot him as he writhed on the ground while emergency workers tried to get to him. They shot him in the hand and wrist and again in the chest, before incapacitating him with a bullet in his stomach. As he laid there bleeding out, his colleagues recollect him yelling, “Where is my camera?” He needed to document what was happening. That was his only concern. The odds of him surviving were slim, but due to immense international pressure, he was evacuated from Gaza and given medical care. And, after many long hard months and multiple surgeries, he recovered. Now, over seventeen years later, with scars prominent, he is one of the most globally recognized photographers within the Gaza Strip. During the most recent (and ongoing) bombings on Gaza, Mohammed’s home and a home housing 30 people was completely destroyed. Link with more info is in the bio. #together

Palestinian men are sons and grandsons.
Palestinian men are fathers and husbands.
Palestinian men are Brothers & cousins
And yet, Palestinian men are never mentioned.
But we see you.
We see your endless work trying to free our people from the rubble.
We see your endless work carrying these bodies out of the rubble.
Robbed of your grief.
We see you protecting as many people as you can throughout all hours of the day and night.
We see you. We mourn with you.
Palestinian men are the strongest men on earth.
Palestinian men hold an unshakable faith, unparalleled in strength.
All of the propaganda and lies cannot touch you and make you into something you are not
Because you are the embodiment of truth, hope, & love.
We see you. We love you. You give to us the strength to fight this fight alongside you
