From Karima Sharabi, the creator of this design: “Created in collaboration with Palestinian Hustle and dedicated to my 84 year old father, Adnan Sharabi, who poignantly remembers ‘the smell of the orange blossoms’ when reminiscing about his childhood in Jaffa, Palestine.”

“The orange tree has an important place among the Palestinians. After the olive tree, it is the symbol of the Palestinian mainland and coast. This tree enjoys a peculiar quality; it is permanently green. Autumn is usually the season of desolation where leaves fall and appear bare to the beholder, while the orange tree holds onto its green leaves; as though such a tree is defying death.”
